In 2022, the latest published statistics, 2,433 babies were stillborn in the UK. The lowest number since records began. A difference is being made, but there is still work to do. Seven new lives are still being lost every single day and that's too many. Between 24 weeks pregnancy and 5 years old, a baby is over 15 times more likely to be stillborn than they are to die from cot death, road deaths, covid, meningitis and drowning COMBINED

Why is the awareness Kicks Count raise so important?

Around half of mothers who had a stillbirth noticed their baby slowed their movements beforehand. If a baby is getting less nutrients or oxygen, they often move less to conserve energy. By reporting all episodes of reduced movement, we can identify babies at risk and deliver them safely. But too many people still aren't aware of this vital information so we need to raise more awareness.
