Local Area Projects Bringing Kicks Count closer to you! For many years, Kicks Count has worked nationwide to raise awareness of baby movements and prevent stillbirth. But we know that every community is different. The needs and support available in one area can be very different to the next. That’s why we’re launching Local Area Appeals: targeted fundraising and awareness campaigns focused on specific regions across the UK. These appeals will allow us to work directly with hospitals, maternity units, and local volunteers to make sure every parent has the tools and information they need to understand their baby’s movements. This will be a fantastic addition to our national and digital campaigns and will allow you to really see where your donations are goingWe are starting with England at the moment and will add Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland shortly. What does a Local Area Appeal do? Each appeal funds: - Wristbands to help track regular movement patterns. When funded, these will be distributed through local maternity groups and antenatal classes - Posters and leaflets for midwives, hospitals, GP surgeries, and community settings. We would love to have these displayed as widely as possible so if you have anywhere you could put one please fill in the form 1(8.3%) (it doesn't need to be in a medical setting) - Donations in memory - If you are setting up a fundraiser in memory of your baby we can let you know where the resources will go and will include your baby's name. - Local volunteer packs to support awareness events, talks, and community outreach- Resources for families experiencing pregnancy after loss In short: the money raised in your area is used in your area. Why this matters Stillbirth rates differ from region to region and we want to help change that. By working at a local level, we can: Identify where awareness is lower Build relationships with local maternity services Reach families who may not otherwise hear our message When more parents understand their baby’s movements, more babies come home safe.
